Mark Making and Visual Journaling (HLC) Remote

06/06/2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

NOTE: There is an on campus and Zoom option for this workshop. Light Snacks will be provided if attending on campus

This workshop will start with a body-centered relaxation exercise after which participants will be guided into step by step kinesthetic drawing exercises, using spontaneous and abstract mark-making. Going from tiny to large drawings using pastels, pencils, and markers, this experiential will be demonstrating the power of making personal marks. Visual journaling will be introduced as a way to cope with distress, restore emotional equilibrium, and support self-regulation. Participants will be offered the opportunity to experience spontaneous forms of expression that can aid in freeing the judging mind, and provide the space for reflection, insight, release, reprocessing, and change. No experience is necessary to participate in this workshop. Time will be provided at the end to reflect, share and ask questions.

This workshop is presented as part of the Wellbeing Through Art program funded by the President’s Administrative Innovation Fund.
