Q: Who is eligible to be considered for Harvard Heroes?
A: To be eligible to be nominated, staff must be administrative/professional, support or hourly employees with at least one year of “benefits-eligible” service. Please note that Harvard Heroes recognizes outstanding individuals, not teams. Heroes does not provide posthumous recognition.

Q: What process does the Harvard Heroes Selection Committee follow to select the HLC Honorees from the overall list of HLC Nominees?
A: The HLC Selection Committee adheres to specific guidelines.

Q: Can I find out who nominated me?
A: Contact Jennifer Weininger and she will check with your nominator whether it’s ok to share their name. Some nominators prefer to remain anonymous.

Q: When will I find out if I have been selected as a Harvard Hero?
A: Harvard Longwood Campus nominees will be notified mid-March. Selected Harvard Heroes will be informed by Thursday, April 11th.

Q: How are the Harvard Heroes celebrated?
A: This year’s Harvard Heroes awards ceremony, hosted by President Bacow, will be held Thursday, June 11, 3:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall, Sanders Theatre Reception to follow at Annenberg Hall (next to Sanders Theatre). All employees are invited and no tickets are needed.
